Sword, Bow, Staff, or Hammer- plus two random abilities that feel quite similar to short cd Sprite attacks. From 3-hit combos and charge attacks, to the recently implemented weapon customization that will let you turn a rapid fire bow strike into a spread volley or a long dash attack into a short spin move, it almost feels like a reimagined SK. It's significantly faster-paced and you don't get quite as much variety in your weapons, but the weapons were my favorite part of Spiral Knights and Ember Knights does a surprisingly decent job at mimicking that to me. While it's no MMO and the rogue-lite elements will mostly reset you after each run, Ember Knights offers something I've yet to experience with any other game: solid top-down monster killing combat that reminds me of Spiral Knights. Maybe not now nor in 5 years, but I promise I will make my own version of this game. If no one is going to take a step forward, I will, trust me.

Grey Havens, if you are so selfish that you can't even bring us an update after 5 years of waiting, just give up on Spiral Knights and give the community the SOURCE CODE, so that a future game developer like me, will be able to make its own version of the game.

If Grey Havens say that they don't have enough people to continue developing the game, why not hire VOLUNTEERS (maybe from the community) to develop further the game? I'm about to study a Game Developing Degree and I would absolutely work for FREE just for the purpose of launching updates for the game, so that we can continue to enjoy the game that brought our childhood so many happiness. Essential things that need to be made to keep a game alive. No content that we begged for years, further story development, bug fixes. I'm really sad to see the current state of the game. If these projects seem interesting definitely do go check them out, but please do not harass, spam, or otherwise bother the people behind the projects. This is a part time remote position, so if you have what it takes you can read the entire job description on the forums here: Īs always, please try to remain civil when talking about these subjects. You can check out their website here: Īs of, Grey Havens is hiring a developer from the Spiral Knights community to help them develop Spiral Knights and potentially other projects. While not officially a Grey Havens project, there are bound to be some similarities in both people and in design. If you'd like to check the game out yourself, you can visit their website here: Ī newer project developed by GG Folks - a group that is composed of previous developers who worked on Puzzle Pirates. You can read up on the official posting on the Puzzle Pirates website here. Grey Havens is supporting a game called Arcane Waters - created in part by one of the developers currently working part-time for Grey Havens. In the interest of keeping our subreddit centered around Spiral Knights, we've opted to create this post as a central point of discussion for these topics. It seems that Three Rings might not consider dead-alt-dragging illegal.Hello all! If you've been following Spiral Knights' current owners closely, you'll likely have noticed that a few projects have started to come to light. You don't consider that cheating, but I do, and Three Rings might (I don't remember).Įdit: I did a little Google searching of ancient forum posts. For example, before the loot-grabbing mechanic was changed, some players used to drag another knight dead through Firestorm Citadel, to double their profits. You have your opinions on what constitutes cheating, but Three Rings has theirs. Whether you SHOULD be running two knights at a time is a separate matter. Maybe you can work out something similar. For example, I used to have two of my knights meet in Haven to trade masses of items, that would have taken a lots of time and crowns to trade by sending mail. And in fact you can do both at the same time on one computer.
